sunday morning. we drag the dining room chairs out onto the porch and if we don’t wear sunglasses we’ll need to squint. we play with our technology. we play with each other. you’re happy that i haven’t gone home yet and i’m happy to hear you say it. people pass by and we say hello and i’m happy to be on our side. i shovel a spoonful of mixed berry smoothie into my mouth and the seeds get stuck in my molars and i think about the minutes we’re saving. i think about the minutes we’re spending. i think about how none of them are ever wasted with you.
